be2 is a no frills matchmaking service that is especially popular with middle aged (35+) and older groups in the UK. It offers a psychoanalysis based matching process, but along much simpler lines than some of its larger competitors, with a relatively short personality questionnaire. The site has a nice clear layout which is easy to understand and navigate.
 
There are few special features on the be2 dating site, but in some ways this is its unique appeal. The product is clean and crisp and no-nonsense. As previously mentioned, the registration process for be2 is relatively painless, by the standards of ‘science based’ matching services. Certainly be2’s registration process is considerably shorter than competitors such as Parship or eharmony. However, it’s still an interesting questionnaire to complete and, as with the other sites, it delivers a personality report to you at the end of the process showing how you ‘score’ against four personality ‘dimensions’ – which is always good fun and comes totally free of charge.
 
As with any matching service the number of profiles available for you to view is limited. This is because, the matching algorithm only sends you matches who fit with your personality profile and with your search preferences.
 
One of the most frustrating things about be2 is that you cannot view your matches pictures until you are a Premium Member and have subscribed to the service. This makes the free view rather frustrating as all you have to go on is the limited information in member’s profiles and it can be hard to make the decision of whether to subscribe on this basis alone.
 
Most features on be2 are free, up to the point where you want to get into a conversation with one of your matches. So it possible to send a first message to a match, but to read her reply you will need to subscribe. Prices are mid-ranged, with the smallest spend being £90 for 3 months membership.
